Big Bear Lake : Where to Stay
Although Thanksgiving hasn’t even passed and we are still very much in Fall, I cant help but think about Winter already.
In 2016 Dean took me to Noon Lodge in Big Bear for a quick weekend getaway . The small cabin he rented proved to be the best place for us to unplug from the outside world and spend some quality time together. We woke up early in the morning to go fishing on the lake, enjoyed ‘in-house craft soda pop’ with dinner at a small diner in the middle of the town and polished off a bottle of red wine while playing bored games well into the night.
Dean prayed that the next morning we would wake up to snow ( as a man from Michigan he still cant get over the fact that his future wife has yet to see snow fall). Although there were no snowflakes to greet me as I drank my morning coffee, I forced him to pull over on the way home so I could at least make my first snow ball. I could tell by his face he saw the dirty snow on the ground as somewhat of a consolation prize compared to the winter wonderland I envisioned - but I thought it was beautiful.
Even though two years later I am still waiting for my first snow day, I will always remember the weekend at this cabin.
